Located in the heart of Kala Ghoda, Mumbai, Cafe Nur offers a delightful escape for food enthusiasts seeking a taste of traditional Indian cuisine. This charming cafe seamlessly blends the charm of old Bombay with modern dining sensibilities, making it an appealing spot for both casual diners and gastronomic adventurers alike.

The menu at Cafe Nur is compact yet exquisite, specializing in mouthwatering delights that cater especially to non-vegetarian lovers. Start your day right with their Desi Omelette, a delightful mélange of double eggs, onion, tomatoes, and green chillies served with fresh Pao or Sourdough bread for only ₹75. If you're in the mood for something heartier, the Mutton Nihari, slow-cooked to perfection using traditional recipes, will leave your taste buds dancing for ₹550. Pair that with their Chai Kadak, which not only delights the palate but also invigorates the spirit for just ₹30.

Throughout your meal, you'll be enveloped in a warm ambiance that echoes the nostalgia of Bombay's rich cultural tapestry. Patrons often rave about its charm, describing it as a place where food meets soul—it's an atmosphere perfect for family gatherings or a relaxing day out with friends. However, some guests have noted that service can be a bit slow during peak times. It’s advisable to make a reservation—especially on bustling Fridays—to avoid long waits and to truly enjoy the experience without feeling rushed, as one reviewer aptly put it, “The ambiance reminds us of old Bombay.”

For those craving kebabs, Cafe Nur does not disappoint. The Chicken Seekh Kebab (₹345) and Mutton Seekh Kebab (₹425) are highlights, often praised for their rich flavors and satisfying tenderness. Don’t forget to explore their delectable dessert options, such as the creamy Firni infused with saffron and nuts (₹150), which brings a sweet finish to your meal.

I would recommend reserving as waiting time can be high especially on fridays. Loved the food though the quantity was on the lower side. We ordered kebab pao (it was okay, just a pav with a small piece of kebab inside. Don't expect much). The mutton seekh kebab and chicken malai badami tikka were amazing (both come with naan and dips). Ended our meal with some delicious phirni!

Food was good, spicy and almost everything had similar spice. The quantity in every portion is excellent. The drinks from Pallongi are traditionally Indian. Deserts are delicious too. Quality of mutton used is excellent.

A very charming place. The food has an absolute bang on flavour. The atmosphere is good. The service however could be better, has potential. From our experience, the service was slow but once food arrived it seemed like the staff kept rushing us which took away from the family dining experience.

Tried Cafe Nur recently. For non vegetarian, meat lovers it is a treat! They specialise in rolls, kebabs, biryani with a short but focused menu. Go for breakfast, lunch or dinner their menu caters to all. Loved fresh hot khamiri nan with mutton kebab, nalli nihari left smooth taste on buds. Chicken biryani was not exciting which by the way was a wrong delivery on the table. We missed the mutton biryani this time. The place seemed new so did the staff and was a bit all over. Over all food was good quality, tasty and reasonably priced. Noteworthy their playlist was great music timed with good food which was a sufi topping to the whole experience. Also like to mention Afzal who gave good recommendation on food choice.

Went with family...loved the food and the ambience! The seekh kebab and tikkas are awesome. The ambience reminds us of old Bombay. Food for the soul! Do make a booking in advance, as there was a waiting even on a weekday... which proves just how good they are!

Just visited this café – small but well-organized. Loved the cozy, old-school vibes and the amazing atmosphere. The food was genuinely good – I’d highly recommend it! However, the service was very slow. It took away from the overall experience. Please work on the management side – this place truly has potential.
